According to a study published in the Journal of American Medicine, extra-virgin olive oil reduces the risk of breast cancer. The study analysed the incidence of breast cancer in 4282 women between the ages of 60 and 80. After 5 years, researchers observed that the 1476 women who adhered to a diet that included extra-virgin olive oil had a 68% lower probability of developing a malignant breast tumour, compared to the 1391 women who did not use olive oil as part of their diet. The researcher who compiled this data is embarking upon a new research cycle, this time on a wider sample of women. We’ll be sure to keep you posted!
